Ghafix Currency Converter (“Ghafix,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a Shopify app that helps merchants display storefront prices in multiple currencies. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how you can contact us.

Information we collect

When a merchant installs or uses Ghafix Currency Converter, we may collect and store:

- Shop domain
- App installation status
- Shopify access token
- App settings and configuration
- Enabled currencies
- Currency formatting settings
- Selector and popup settings
- Cart notice settings
- Shopify Markets-related configuration
- Theme app extension status
- Exchange-rate settings
- Diagnostic logs
- App analytics and usage events

We do not collect or store customer names, customer emails, customer addresses, phone numbers, orders, payment details, credit card details, or other Shopify protected customer data.

Shopify API access

The app uses Shopify APIs only for required app functionality. The default Shopify access scopes are read_locales and read_themes. Ghafix Currency Converter does not control Shopify checkout currency directly. Checkout currency depends on the merchant’s Shopify Markets and payment settings.

Storefront analytics

If enabled by the merchant and allowed by Shopify Customer Privacy consent, the app may collect privacy-safe storefront currency events, such as:

- Selected currency
- Country code
- Event type
- Timestamp
- Visitor or session identifier
- Whether a currency is supported by Shopify Markets or checkout settings

Raw IP addresses are not stored by the app. Analytics are used to help merchants understand currency usage and improve app performance.

Browser storage and cookies

The app may use browser storage, such as local storage or session storage, to remember a visitor’s selected currency and reduce storefront flicker. Storage may depend on Shopify Customer Privacy consent and browser privacy settings.

Crisp support chat

We use Crisp to provide customer support chat and messaging. If you contact us through Crisp, Crisp may process information you provide, such as your name, email address, shop domain, message content, browser or device details, and conversation metadata. Crisp processes this information as our support service provider. Crisp’s privacy policy is available at https://crisp.chat/en/privacy/.

How we use information

We use information to:

- Provide and operate the app
- Save merchant settings
- Display converted storefront prices
- Support Shopify Markets-aware behavior
- Provide diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Improve app reliability
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain app security
- Comply with Shopify requirements and legal obligations

Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with trusted service providers needed to operate the app, including hosting, database storage, exchange-rate services, geolocation services, analytics services, and Crisp for customer support chat.

Exchange-rate and geolocation providers

If a merchant enables external providers, the app may use third-party exchange-rate or geolocation services to provide currency conversion or country-based currency suggestions. These services are used only as needed to provide app functionality.

Data retention

We retain app data only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and support merchants. Storefront analytics may be retained for a limited period based on merchant settings.

Uninstall and deletion

When a merchant uninstalls the app, we process Shopify privacy and compliance webhooks, including app/uninstalled, customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact where applicable.

Because Ghafix Currency Converter does not store customer personal data, customer data requests or redactions generally return no customer data stored. Shop data is deleted or anonymized according to Shopify requirements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect app data, including restricted access to production systems and encrypted storage for sensitive tokens where applicable.

International data transfers

Information may be processed in countries other than where the merchant or customer is located. Where required, we use reasonable safeguards for international data transfers.

Your rights

Merchants may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of their app data. Customers should contact the merchant directly for requests related to their Shopify store data.

Children’s privacy

Ghafix Currency Converter is intended for use by Shopify merchants and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with the latest effective date.
